Dr Sehrish Shahid received her PhD in Management from the School of Management, RMIT University on an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS). Her academic career spans over eleven years during which she held faculty positions at the University of Central Punjab Pakistan, Casual Academic at the School of Management, RMIT University and Lecturer MBA at the Australian Institute of Business (AIB).
She has worked on funded grant research projects such as SAFE funded by the Victorian Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions Change Our Game Grant and another was supported by the City of Melbourne Council. In 2023, she won an ECR grant funded by EE Truby Willams Endowment Grant. Before entering academia, she worked in the industry. Sehrish is a management and leadership researcher and has presented her research work at conferences including the prestigious Academy of Management and ANZAM. She has published her work in ABDC-ranked journals and has been an active reviewer for various journal outlets. In 2018, she won a publication grant from the School of Management, at RMIT University owing to her contributions to research. In 2022, she won internal teaching and research grants sponsored by the Australian Institute of Business (AIB) contributing to the research and teaching practice.
She is interested in work-integrated learning subjects where students could apply the knowledge to practice. This indeed matches her teaching philosophy based on progressivism and a student-centred learning approach where students are active participants, placed at the core of the learning process. Having specialisation in authenticity, and psychology, in amplifying business professionals with the tools and competence to add value to their professions, transforming lives through the medium of education.
