BIO
Ben is a Senior Lecturer at RMIT University. His research focuses on understanding climate change, climate variability, and their impacts on water resources, coral reef ecosystems, polar environments, agriculture, and other natural and human systems. His work aims to improve understanding of climate risks and resilience through collaboration with researchers, industry, and governments to support evidence-based decision-making. He is a passionate educator who is committed to deep student engagement, fostering diversity and inclusion through universal design, and enriching learning through authentic, in-person experiences and high-quality educational practice. Ben is a co-coordinator of the international PAGES 2k consortium, domain editor for WIREs Climate Change, Associate Investigator of Securing Antarctica's Environmental Future, and a contributing author to the IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report (AR6).
